Is there any way to obtain pension fund? Are there any clever ways to obtain or transfer funds from a private pension plan into another structured investment maybe? The fund in question is literally sitting still with no frequent payments being input as payments were stopped due to the plan being managed in a negative way. Traditionally people are not authorised to gain access to their funds before retirement, but am wondering if there are 'other ways' to extract this. Thanks in advance people.

Are you sorry for our teachers pension fund? Our teachers fund invested their pensions in BP, and as Obama robbed BP our teachers lost one third of their pensions. Our teachers at school used to be very liberal and made us sing MmmMM MMM Barack Hussein Obama but not any more. Why can't I invest my pension fund into a normal bank account? I have £30,000 invested in a with profits pension fund. I have had no annual bonuses for several years and the penalty involved in transferring the fund to another scheme is prohibitive. Why does the government not allow me to invest my pension fund into a normal bank account? One with a guaranteed interest rate, say over the next ten to fifteen years. Jane I've never came across one with guaranteed interest rates. I've spoken to a few IFAs but I felt I knew more about the market than they did. One even suggested investing with Standard Life, while their troubles were still going on.
Should I buy an annuity with my pension fund now? I can buy an annuity with my pension now but my pension pot has decreased over the last 2 years. If I should delay buying it for 5 years would this be a better option hoping that the pot increases as the credit crunch ends.
What's wrong with taking a lump sum from my pension fund while I am still young? I plan to this later this year but previous "advice" generated negative responses. I have a mountain of debt that I have no other way of clearing and not being able to contribute to the household expenses is putting a serious strain on my marriage. TO STEVEN F - We have separate finances by mutual agreement and my husbands initial suggestion. He earns my money than me and pays for everying. My personal debt prevents me from doing so. You obviously didn't read my posting properly. TO BUD - I am 50 this year.
As it is my money why do I, under UK law, have to buy an annuity with my pension fund in the end? Annuities take your money for keeps and pay you no more than about 1% above a bank deposit a/c. - Why should I have to make a compulsory gift to an issurance company? - Why can I not manage my money myself, if I want to? - Do you know the magnitude of the annual bonuses in the financial industry? They are obscene Old know all, you arerepeating the platitudes spouted by the government. It gives me 28% tax relief and then requires me to give that plus my own money to an INSURANCE co., not to the nation. Your last para confuses the huge annual Xmas bonuses the financial industry gives out to ALL senior staff, with the commission paid to its small salesmen who deserve it. Gem, your scheme will not save you from having to gift 75% of your entire fund to the insurace at cats. Steve B, Thanks for explaining the Plymouth Brethren loop hole. But even that confiscates you money in the end. John, I agree with you. UK tax laws fleece the ordinary people, but allow private equity billionaires and their ilk, to pay as little as they like.
