who qualify for old age security and guaranteed income suppliment, in canada?
my father is 65 year old and has not work much for last 14 years that we have moved to canada. maybe 4 out of 14 years he worked.

- If you are a Canadian citizen,you are entitled to receive the Old Age Security,also if you have little or no other income then you should be able to receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement.Your father should apply for both.He should also ask about the Canada Pension Plan.Best to call Human Resources first,its listed under Government pages.They will let your father know what to do to receive any pensions.
- Not everyone living in Canada is entitled to receive OAS. The criteria for qualification are quite specific. Your father may not qualify for full pension, but may qualify for partial pension.
