Amount - credited in Pension fund through arrears of the salary in bank is tax exempted or not?

Sir, recently by a settlement in the bank the employees and officers have returned back an huge amount through their arrears of the wages to credit the pension fund . I want tax exemption in the pension fund amount.Guide me.

1. If contribution is made to a Pension Scheme approved by the govt then it is eligible for deduction u/s 80C. HMT
