Is it really true that you can not cash in a UK pension fund until retirement age?
Need some cash now and want to cash long dormant pension fund. Any suggestions? Thanks.

- in the US you can't get money from a pensions fund unti after retirement -- perhaps is the same there (Sux don't it)
- No it is not necessarily true. With many types of fund you can obtain part of your pension fund from age 50. The remaining funds are then transferred into a new pension. It is best to get advice from an independent financial adviser (IFA). I managed to get about 33% from an old pension scheme this way, with the rest reinvested. So it can be done. (By the way, it is expensive to do this......).
