How much do Canadian senior citizens get from the government...?
...in terms of social security benefits? Old Age pensions, etc? What about if they also have significant income from other sources, perhaps from owning property? Thanks @Mike - it is not personal, it is public policy.

- I don't believe people will give out that info, that is personal ☺
- It varies, based on several factors. For Old Age Security (OAS), the maximum amount is $526.85, bu the average payment is $493.34. If their total income is over $67,668, they lose part of it, and at $109,764 they lose all of it. There are supplements, like the Guaranteed Income Supplement, averaging $455.46, and maxing at $665.00, for a total annual max of $15,590, for a single person. At a certain income level, these extra payments are also not made. The is also the CPP, or Canada Pension Plan, which is based on your income during your working life. The more you paid into it, the more you will get from it. The average and maximum are $504.88, and $960.00.
